Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
PulseCheck shows news events as several outlets report them and lets you approve or disapprove of each one anonymously. It is made by EXTI ("we").
No account, no name, no email, no ads. We never sell or share data.
What leaves your phone
- A random install code. The first time you open the app it creates a random code on your phone. It is not your advertising ID and contains nothing about you. The app sends it with each request so you can vote once per event and see your earlier votes.
- Your votes (approve or disapprove, and on which event).
What we keep
For each vote we store the event, the choice, and a one-way scrambled form of your install code (a hash made with a secret key and the event). That form is different for every event, so your votes cannot be linked to each other, and we do not store the install code itself. We cannot tell who voted, and we cannot find or delete the votes of one person.
We only ever show totals: nobody can see how you voted.
Our hosting provider
The app's server runs on Cloudflare. To deliver the news and stop abuse (for example, limiting how many votes one connection can send per minute), Cloudflare processes your IP address and may keep it in short-lived service logs. We don't store IP addresses in our database or link them to votes. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
News stories
Headlines and short summaries come from the outlets' public news feeds. Opening a story takes you to the outlet's website in your browser; that site has its own privacy policy.
What we don't do
- No accounts, profiles, comments or chat.
- No advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
- No access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone or files.
Children
PulseCheck is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
